Hi everyone!
Today for my English lesson I will be talking about an article that I have read. This said article Is about the time of Hitler, everything involving the Nazis and the holocaust. We got to pick out of 6 different articles:
- Nazi Party
- Genocide
- Kristallnacht
- Anti - Semitism
- Gestapo
- Ghettoes
I had chosen Genocide, as I feel like this article really explains a lot that happened in the movie 'The Boy in the Striped Pajamas'.
After reading this article I start to understand a lot more about the movie. The reason why the Jews were treated this way is that they were thought to not be human. Their culture was also thought to be inferior to theirs, therefore they thought it was okay to treat their lives like garbage.
I can make this a connection to the movie, regarding what the movie as showing the jew was always and definitely treated like garbage. They have often kicked around or beaten up for a mistake. To the soldiers, the key was to always be brutal and use violence.
In Genocide, there always had to be a superior group and an inferior who always had disadvantages. This was usually regarding your culture, the Jews were always inferior and the opposing side was considered superior.
In the movie Jews had to do all the work and when the soldiers or 'government were down with them. They performed a Holocaust.
