Hello, my fellow people!

Finally, we are going back to our daily basis routine, and back to doing our weekly CARR blogposts.

Commitment - This week the way I showed commitment was by, committing my self into the after school "In House Sports Competition". Although I would have done it anyway because there is badminton and I take a passion for that sport. It's the fact that I still do it even when I know I'm not the best at it. I know I have improved a lot because I can "smash" the shuttlecock harder. making it go faster and instead of it making a rainbow sort of shape it goes straight ahead. 

Achievement - When I did social studies I needed to make a graph but I didn't finish it in time so I made it homework. When I did it home I took my time to make it look nice and get numbers, scales, and things like that right I followed the FAULTSPK acronym which meant Frame, Axis, Units, Labels, Title, Scale, Plot, Key. I was pretty proud of myself. That's how I achieved making a nice graph.

Resilience - I kept resilient for my English although I was a bit behind in work because my friends started it in their form class before me. But I was determined to catch up with them although it was a bit difficult. I still kept resilient to catch up on the work.

Respect - I respected my grandma and aunty by babysitting my cousin while they needed to relax because I know they would have struggled a lot. I mean it was fun and easy looking after them because I just needed to play hide and seek to distract them. Then they finally got sleepy and just fell asleep.

I really like this book because you really relate to it, I am not that far into this book but I am already really interested in it. So far the feelings I have felt are humor, empathy, and boredom. I mean at the start I felt kind of bored, but after reading more I started to feel more and more intrigued, and I really want to reach the end to see what other things I will feel. She is just a girl named Victoria Spring, but she likes to be called Tori she doesn't really have friends. So she is more of a loner but is relatable even if you have lots of friends.

Now Tori has met a boy that she met in the computer room, now she is in her class and is surprised by her self as she is looking for the "hottest" guy in the school. I guess she just wanted to waste time while she was in class. Nothing interesting happened just yet.

Tori was in her class and her teacher presents a site called "Solitaire.co.uk" I guess this is where things are going to take place. Because of course, the title is "Solitaire" she was in her class, and on this site, there is one post. Of a boy named Kent from their school and they photoshopped his face to like Yoda's. Now she just met her childhood friend.

Tor had got invited to a lunch with so of her "friends" they also invited her childhood friend. His name is Lucas, they were all having a fun time talking and being social but that's not the case for Tori. The person she just met in the computer room whose name was Micheal. Came into the restaurant they were in, sat with them like he was invited (which he was not). Now Tori is walking home and Micheal tagged along they are about to get into an argument.

So it turns out they didn't really have an argument which was disappointing but while they were walking home together. Micheal mentioned that they have met before and Tori just remembered they did. He was acting normal at that time and not crazy at all like he is now. When they first met he was showing Tori around the Truham school, she was surprised. She got home and although she is so careless at school she cares so much for her little brother Oliver. When Tori's mum got home she was irritated because Oliver wasn't in bed yet. When he should've been, it turns out that they don't like each other (Tori and her mum).

Tori was in Becky's room with her, this is the point is where Tori was helping Becky to find a costume. For the costume party, Tori decided to dress up as Wednesday from "The Addams Family". Which I guess is a bit dark because at first, Tori said to Becky that she was going to be Snow White. But turns out Tori despises Disney.

Today for the English part of our Social Studies and English hurumanu, we needed to read a book at the start of the period. So we can blog about it after, as I didn't bring a book to read. Our teacher Mrs. Clark provided paper flip pages to read, I decided to read the one about powerful women.

What I really liked about this book was that it really cave credit to women, I also learned some things about these successful women. Although these wonderful women are successful. They didn't have a perfect road where their fate was to be doing what they are doing. Some of them experienced anxiety or some of the disabilities, but that's not the point. They are genuinely loved by their fans for their work, not because they pity them. It is pretty amazing at what they have achieved.

How to keep yourself safe:

• Place bags under desks.
• Do not run in the lab.
• Do not use equipment immaturely.
• Wear the proper gear.
• If you have long hair tie it up - when doing an experiment.
• Do not eat or drink in the lab.
• Wear safety gear like safety glasses or gloves - when doing an experiment.
• Wash your hands after handling chemicals.
• Do not smell or inhale and especially taste the chemicals.
• Don't play around with chemicals without the teacher's permission.
• Dispose of lab waste properly - Broken Glass, Chemicals.

Safety:
To protects yourself from harm or dangers.

Hazardous:
When an object or place can be dangerous to you.

Meniscus:
The curves that are seen at the top of a liquid depending on the container.

Art - Zentangle

Manga Pasifika doodles:

Zentangle - Meditative doodle that has patterns and tangles, combined.

Basically doing a “zentangle” but specifically basing it around Manga and Pasifika. - 
(possibly including Art Nouveau and kowhawhai)

Tasks - 

Try drawing a zentangle using this "link" mixing the kinds of arts into one art piece.

With my drawing (Zentangle), I used anime as my base and the details inspired by kowhaiwhai. 

As you can see in this photo I used the hair as the base for all the kowhaiwhai art. 
I used mostly warm colors.

These clothes are meant to represent the kowhaiwhai culture, because it 
originated in New Zealand. I used traditional maori clothes.

 

On her face I added a moko, I also made her a necklace that I often see in major haka
dances on the girls. I gave her fully black eyes to represent a goddess as her hair is flowing
in the air like a goddess.
