Group party process - power to the people

So far for our power to the people project our group or party, had just made our logo well I made an idea and our team had added a few tweaks here and there. In my opinion, I think it's a pretty cool looking log. Apart from the logo, we have started to carry on doing the policies of our party. To be honest, it's a bit hard figuring out what we need to write down, this shows us that it's hard to be a political leader or politician.

Our goal for next week is to finish the policies and start our manifesto and the leader speech.

Group Party Process - Power to the people

In our power to the people hurumanu, we needed to create our own party and my group members were so generous and made me the prime minister. So far we came up with a name, and slogan I will only mention them at the end. Right now we are only coming up with some policies.

How to vote - Social Studies

Today for social studies I needed to make an infographic based on how to vote with information that we got from a video that our teacher showed us.

Business -

Today for business we needed to write down the reason why each skill is important for running a business here in the table.

But we also needed to find an inspirational quote about hard work but the quote needed to be one that inspires us the most.

Success isn’t always about greatness, it’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to greatness. Greatness will come. - Dwayne Jhonson

End of life choice referendum 2020

This referendum is about whether or not they should legalize death assistance, this only applies to people who have a terminal illness. They must be over 18 and 6 months towards their death. This would be done by putting the patient to sleep and inserting a drug into them which would kill them. This gives them a painless death.

Pros

  • The only people who are allowed to make this decision must have a terminal illness or be 18 and over.
  • The decision is made only by the person who wants to die by anyone else, and they can not be pressured.
  • People don't have to suffer anymore from living a sick life.
  • Instead of dying a painful way, they can die painlessly.
  • The hard decision is taken away from loved ones.
Cons
  • Some doctors might not want to do this and probably once they do this can leave them guilty which has an impact on their mental health.
  • Even if it's an assisted death it's still suicide.
  • This goes against people's beliefs and values.
I would vote yes, I know it's probably bad but I am mainly thinking about the patient and what they would be going through. They maybe think that there is no point in life if they have a terminal illness. That they'll just be in bed for the rest of their life. I dont like the fact that they have to suffer from this pain.

Cannabis Referendum 2020

What is it?:
The referendum is to legalize the use and sell of the cannabis drug, an whether or not it will be legal. Overall it's just an election of whether or not people can sell or use Cannabis.

Pros & Cons of this vote:
pros:

  • More tax
  • We know who is growing or supplying
  • It creates more jobs
  • You know what you are buying
  • There is a limit to how much you can take per day.
  • No fear of breaking the law.
cons:
  • Drug use can cause you to bad things without thinking.
  • Still can't stop illegal selling and growing.
  • It can damage your mental health.
  • Can create drag addicts.

What would I vote for & why:

In my opinion, I would vote for yes, I mean yes it is a drug where you can overdose. But there are many strict rules and now the people who are guilty of illegally taking cannabis. Will probably be charged but at least new people won't have to fear. The number of people buying or supplying it illegally will decrease, there is many limitations and rules.

How to make a digital I.D Tag on "Tinkercad"

Hello everyone after finishing my real I.D tag we were told to make a digital version on https://www.tinkercad.com/.

After we learned how to do everything because Mr. Rees showed us how to do some of the stuff. We needed to do it by ourselves and then record with Screencastify. Or any other way to show how we made our digital I.D tag.

If you want to just watch the video click here -
https://drive.google.com/file/d/16lwbSKJ1tFC9sx7z7a1aLwrm7NWIjuqJ/view

Here is the method with just using pictures.

Step 1:
Go to the https://www.tinkercad.com/ and this photo shows what the front page should look like.

Step 2:
If you are just starting you need to click "join now" if you have already tried to sign in a while ago click "sign-in"

Step 3:
If you had just joined you need to create your own personal account. Once you click "Create a personal account". You have to follow the procedures that it tells you to do. It's not that hard just a bit of typing and clicking.

Step 4:
Once you have finished creating an account this page will show up after a few seconds of loading. It will not be like this photo because you probably have made no design yet so it will be empty. Now you have to click "Create new design"

Step 5:
Once this page shows up.

On the side, you can see those 3D shapes what you need to do is click the box shape. Then drag it onto the grided platform.

Step 6:
When you put the cube on the platform this tab will be on the side click on the arrow so it can show you all the settings like this photo. In this photo, I had set everything to where it needs to be so just copy what's in the photo.

You change the color by clicking on the circle that has the word solid under it, then this will show up. You can click any color but the preferred color is grey.

This is now what it should look like.

So now you should get the cylinder shape, (I already showed you where shapes are). When you get the cylinder on to the platform, make it hole and not solid.
Click on the cylinder then click on one of the corner squares. Change the number 20 into 5.

Then click the square that is at the top and also change the number to 5 like this.

The cylinder should now look like this.

After you have done you need to now place the cylinder around the top of your I.D tag. You can put it in the corner if you like but I put it in the middle, once you have done that it should look like this.

Now you need to scroll down on where shapes are and select the cone shape, drag it onto the platform. Now this bit will be a bit tricky so I will try to thoroughly explain it.

So when you have the cone on the platform change it to hole so it's not solid, that means it would look like a holograph instead of a purple cone now. Once you have done that you need to rotate the cone so it's upside down. But before that, you need to change the size. By doing that you need to click the one of the white squares out of the four on the bottom. Click on the place where it says 20 and change it to 7 in each place it says 20.

At the top of the cone, there is a small white square you need to click that and change the 20 to 5.

At the top of the cone, there is a curved grey arrow and it should look like this.

What you need to do is click and hold that arrow, then you need to rotate it so it's upside down.

Now you need to drag to your I.D tag and put it where the circle is, so it would look like that you have a circle inside a bigger circle.

It should now look like this.

Now, this part is optional but you can add a name or initials, the way you do this is to go to the area where there are the shapes. Scroll down and select on text, you need to make it hollow. Then you can select what it says as an example "James". After that, you need to make sure the height is 3 and then angle your screen on its side view. Once you do that at top of the text there will be a triangle that will look like this.

Click and hold it then drag it up so the top is lined up with the to of I.D tag her is a photo of what it should look like.

As you can see the text is kind of floating, now that it's like this you need to drag it to where you want on the I.D tag. So now it should look like this but with your initials.

Now here is the last thing you need to do which is to highlight your whole project and make it one piece. To do this you need to just follow this diagram I had made.

In your top right corner, there are these icons.

Click on this icon.

Click on it then your final product should look like this.

Social Studies - Protest research - Nuclear Bomb Testing

Protest against nuclear testing in the pacific

What happened in the protest against nuclear testing in the pacific?

This protest was also known as the Mururoa protest. This took place in June 1995, after World War ll in the United States. The United States and their French and British alliances. Had frequently tested their bombs in the pacific region, in the 1950’s New Zealand military and observed British and American nuclear tests in Australia.  The French government announced that they would carry 8 final underground nuclear bombs tests in Mururua. They said they wanted to do these final tests before the UN comprehensive nuclear test ban treaty. This is what provoked the people which made them protest against it around the Pacific. One person named Anne Horne wanted to go to Mururoa to protest against nuclear testing. She expected to see bombs being detonated but instead, she saw a skipper being beaten and detained by French commandos. She actually saw this with her camera if it weren’t for her it would have not been carried out to the world. Her photos were actually the only evidence of the Mururoa protest. This is what made the end of the protests and nuclear bomb testing. This made the French very mad which I guess you could say a good thing.

Who was involved?

  • New Zealanders were involved in the protest.
  • United States
  • Britains
  • Mainly the french with their commandos physically going there, which they also had beaten up some protesters.
  • The most important person is Anne Horne because it is she who released the photos to the world.

Why were they protesting?
Because this would actually affect the health of people near Morurua because of the radiation. Because the first test the explosion was so big it created a mushroom shape in the sky. The top of that “mushroom” was actually a huge radiational cloud. WHich had spread out through the atmosphere. The main reason they were protesting was to keep the earth’s air clean.

What was the outcome?
Because of Anne Horne, the photos of this violence had leaked out to the world, which raged everyone.  They had stopped because they were supposed to anyway since there was a ban treaty. But it was detonated which caused a huge submarine landslide on the South East rim of the atoll. Causing a great chunk of the outer slope of the atoll to break loose and causing a tsunami affecting Mururoa and injuring workers. The blast caused a 2 kilometer long and 40 cm wide crack to appear on the atoll.
