Hands - Hurumanu 2 - Science

In Hurumanu 2 we have been learning about bones, like the hips, arms, skull, hands, etc. We have been studying this through 'Quizlet' doing tests, spelling, and other learning activities.

The bones in our hands are essential to provide structure and flexibility to the soft tissues. Our hands are important and very useful to us humans because we can grip on things and hold things. For most of the creations today you have to use your hand whether it is to use it or build, to do practically 90% of your daily tasks. You need to use your hands, so your hands are essential.

The movement of your hand is started by using your forearm muscles, only the thin tendons of these muscles are found directly on the hand. The extender tendons are used for stretching the hand this tendon runs from the back of the hand to the tips of the fingers. The flexor is used for bending which located in the palms of the hand to the fingers.

Tendons - Tendons are a type of tissue that contain many fibers, this tissue is what joins the muscle to bone.

Joints - The joints keep our bones together and also support the movement.

Bones - They provide structure for the body, it also protects the vital organs also provides a framework for the attachment of soft tissues. Last but not least it stores vitamins and minerals and releases them when needed.

Ligaments - The ligaments are what connect the bones together, and also provides a limited amount of movement between your bones.

Muscles - They are what allow us to move without muscle we wouldn't be able to move because our bones can't move without them.

Cartilage - It is a connective tissue that coats the surface of our bones. What it really does is keep our joint motion fluid, by cushioning our bones against impact.

I hadn't created one of the hands as I wasn't here but I do have an example photo.
