Game Coding?!

Hello People!, For the past few weeks in one of our hurumanu's my class 7/8AL and Whaea's class 7/8WH have been learning how to create a game throughout coding. Our game needed to be based on the earth for e.g the pollution in the water or on land, or the animals, My game was based on the pollution in the water. I did not finish the game and I was not able to finish coding the rubbish so it will be able to become collectible, overall the rest is fine so if you want to have fun go ahead and give a shot!

I really enjoyed this hurumanu I have learned how to code although it was no the easiest task I have also learned more about my Kaitiaki, for example, Tane Mahuta he is the god of trees. and all the others to make it easier to understand it is like the gods in New Zealand for the Earth's elements. Tane Mahuta for the tree and the birds, Tawhirimatea is the god of the weather he controls the wind and basically, things involving the weather Tangaroa is the god of the ocean or as some say the sea he is the habitat of all marine animals. In this hurumanu, the thing I found hard was doing the coding not when I was practicing but when we had to do it for the actual game making luckily we had gamefroot. gamefroot is a website when you can make games and apps and so on all the scripts are already made for you and they are designed for a specific purpose for e.g the coins are made to be a collectible. What made me keep going and not giving up was that my friends were able to help me out when I needed it, I was not very good at it but overall I really enjoyed this project and if we had to do it again I would enjoy it.

I used gamefroot since it is an easy app as I said before I don't have to stress myself out with making the scripts it is already made and there are also different versions you can do I did have to touch up and edit some scripts.


When learning this we had to research about it the teachers had shown us videos about what we need to make our game about.
